Aug. 24--"Empire" brought the drama back to Chicago.
Crews were filming scenes for the Fox show, about a hip-hop mogul's family, Monday morning on a Hubbard Street sidewalk by Dearborn Street in the Near North Side neighborhood.
Filming began Monday morning and was scheduled to continue through 7 p.m., affecting parking in the area, according to a sign posted by film trucks.
Chicago Film Office director Rich Moskal said filming for Season 2 of "Empire" began June 23 in Chicago and is expected to continue through March.
"They're here all the time," Moskal said.
The second season of the show, co-created by Lee Daniels, is slated to premiere Sept. 23.
