Jan. 15--An Elgin man was killed in a crash after he struck a tow truck with his car early Friday on Interstate 294 near north suburban Glenview.
Kevin J. Horn, 27, was driving a 2010 silver Mazda north on I-294 near Central Road around 1:46 a.m. when he struck the back corner of a 2014 Hino tow truck that was slowing down in the left lane for a disabled vehicle, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.
Horn was taken to Glenbrook Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, state police said.
The driver of the tow truck was not injured, police said.
As of early Friday, two left northbound lanes and a left shoulder were closed as officials investigated the crash.
