BRIEF: Elderly man with Alzheimer's disease missing from Northwest Side

Dec. 08--Police are asking for the public's help finding an 81-year-old man who has Alzheimer's disease and went missing Sunday afternoon from his home in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood.

Nelson Serrano was last seen about 3 p.m. Sunday leaving his home in the 2400 block of North Mozart Street. He was wearing a brown hat, an olive-green jacket, blue overalls and white shoes, police said.

Serrano, who also has diabetes, may have been heading to Tony's Finer Foods in the Logan Square neighborhood, police said.

He is described as a Hispanic man with a fair complexion, gray hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Area North Special Victims Unit at 312-744-8266.
