May 25--Edison International said Tuesday that Chief Executive Ted Craver will retire in September in keeping with the Rosemead company's practice of asking its leaders to step down at age 65.
Craver, who also is president and chairman of Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, has held the chief executive post since 2008.
Pedro Pizarro will succeed Craver as chief executive. Pizarro, 50, is currently president of Southern California Edison, which provides electricity to 14 million customers in California's central, southern and coastal areas.
When Pizarro becomes Edison International president on June 1, the company said, senior vice president Kevin M. Payne, 55, will become chief executive of Southern California Edison and senior vice president Ronald O. Nichols, 62, will become president of the utility.
