BRIEF: Eddie Vedder to perform at Cubs charity concert

June 29--Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder will perform at the fourth annual Hot Stove Cool Music Chicago fundraiser July 9 at Metro in Wrigleyville, the Cubs announced Monday.

Vedder, a longtime Cubs fan, will be joined by Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein, Hall of Fame baseball writer Peter Gammons and Cubs broadcaster Len Kasper at the concert, which starts at 8 p.m.

Wilco bassist John Stirratt and Cheap Trick drummer Daxx Nielsen, among others, will perform. WXRT's Lin Brehmer, "Mad Men" actor and Wilmette native Joel Murray and actor/comedian Mike O'Malley will serve as emcees.

A limited number of general admission tickets will be released Monday at noon. Tickets will be available for $75 online at metrochicago.com or at the Metro box office, 3730 N. Clark St.

Proceeds benefit Cubs Charities and Epstein's Foundation To Be Named Later, which contributes to programs that aid disadvantaged youth and adults.
