BRIEF: Eddie Vedder crashes Adam Sandler's comedy show, sings 'My Generation'

Feb. 11--The joke was on Adam Sandler and friends Tuesday in Seattle.

Sandler, David Spade, Tim Meadows, Norm Macdonald and Rob Schneider were having trouble singing The Who's "My Generation" at the Paramount Theatre when they got an assist from a member of the crowd: Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder.

"It took the crowd a second to realize what was happening. Once they did the place erupted in cheers! Then Eddie grabbed a mic and belted out some of the lyrics. It was pretty cool! Stayed out there the whole time. It wasn't planned, either," Seattle Theatre Group concerts marketing manager Jason Ross told the Tribune.

The comedians have been performing at a few West Coast theaters. Vedder, a die-hard Cubs fan born in Evanston, and Pearl Jam are slated to play Wrigley Field Aug. 20 and Aug. 22.
