BRIEF: Eddie Vedder bids Letterman adieu with emotional 'Better Man'

May 19--It's been nearly 20 years since Eddie Vedder first performed on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

When he took the stage in Monday night's episode, the Pearl Jam frontman was emotional as he sang "Better Man" with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra. At the end of the performance, he said, "Love you, Dave."

"This is one we'll remember," Letterman told Vedder.

Vedder was one of the final musical guests to appear on Letterman's show. Bob Dylan will be on tonight's episode with Bill Murray, who was Letterman's first guest on his NBC show in 1982 and his first guest when his show moved to CBS in 1993.

Letterman's final episode will be Wednesday. No guests have been announced for that show.
