Oct. 26--Eclipse Theatre Company continues its practice of producing one playwright every season with a 2016 line-up of Stephen Adly Guirgis plays.
"Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train" (April 14 -- May 22), the Rikers Island tale of a prisoner awaiting trial, opens the season. Ensemble member Anish Jethmalani directs.
Next up, Sarah Moeller directs "Our Lady of 121st Street" (July 14 -- Aug. 21), in which a nun's body is stolen from the viewing room during her funeral.
Steve Scott will direct a final Guirgis production to close the season (Nov. 3 -- Dec. 18), yet to be announced.
Guirgis won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for "Between Riverside and Crazy" and is a company member of New York's Labyrinth Theater Company.
All performances will take place at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Ave.
