Dec. 29--Name: ECBC Falcon Wheeled Duffle Bag (22-inch)
What it is: A carry-on suitcase that allows laptop computers to stay in the bag while you go through security.
How it works: It's a relatively standard suitcase. Just unzip the front compartment holding the computer and lay the bag flat on the X-ray belt.
The good: It's an attractive bag that doesn't skimp on the details -- the wheels, the telescoping handle and the exterior walls are all well-made. It's a perfect size for a three-day trip (or more if you pack light) and stows easily in an overhead bin. The compartment holding the computer features several useful pockets.
The bad: If you can get past the hefty price tag, this bag could use one more decent-sized exterior pocket for the simple things you want to grab before stowing it on a plane -- gum, magazines, a book, headphones and the like. There's a very small pocket at the top of the bag that can barely fit a passport. It's helpful for very small items, but that's about it.
Cost: List price is $349.99, though I found it for $262.85 online.
