BRIEF: Eastbound 210 Freeway near La Canada Flintridge shut down through morning

Oct. 21--A big rig on the the 210 Freeway near La Canada Flintridge overturned Wednesday morning, triggering a full shutdown of the eastbound lanes that could last until the afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.

The big rig was hauling tons of celery and lettuce around 2 a.m. when, according to KTLA, it clipped a bridge and was tossed on its side, blocking all eastbound traffic.

The crash occurred near Ocean View Boulevard west of the 2 Freeway through Glendale. Authorities said all eastbound traffic would be diverted from the 210 to the southbound 2 Freeway and that motorists could continue to the 134 Freeway if they needed to reconnect with the 210.

The CHP is investigating the crash. The driver was not injured and no other vehicles were involved, said Officer Francisco Villalobos. Westbound traffic was not affected.
