BRIEF: Dylan's Candy Bar selling 'Mean Girls' themed candy

Aug. 31--Regina George may want to stay away from Dylan's Candy Bar.

The candy store chain has collaborated with Paramount Pictures to create a collection of "Mean Girls" themed candy that will be sold online and in stores, including the Chicago location, starting Tuesday, a Dylan's publicist said.

The line of candies honors the 2004 movie written by Tina Fey and starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams (who played George) as teenagers surviving life at a fictional North Shore high school.

The candies, which are named for inside jokes from the movie, include "Is Butter A Carb?" popcorn-flavored jelly beans for $6; a "Burn Book" cookie for $6 and a "You Go Glen Coco" pink hot chocolate mix for $12.50. A "Kalteen" bar, which is a nod to George's failed weight-loss efforts, sells for $5.25.

Dylan's stores, including the Chicago location at 445 N. Michigan Ave., plan to celebrate "National 'Mean Girls' Day" on Oct. 3. No details have been announced about the occasion, which has been observed by fans on social media for years because of an obscure quote from the movie.
