BRIEF: Dustin Johnson is off to a hot start on Day 1 of the PGA Championship

Aug. 13--Dustin Johnson is setting the pace at Wisconsin's Whistling Straits during the early going of the PGA Championship.

After faring well at all three major championships in 2015, Johnson looks good so far in the final one of the year. Through 13 holes on Thursday, he leads the field at six-under par, a stroke up on fellow American Harris English.

Playing the back nine first, Johnson birdied the first two holes and eagled No. 16. He birdied the first two holes of his back nine before bogeying No. 3 and recovering with a birdie on No. 4.

Masters and U.S. Open champion Jordan Spieth, British Open champion Zach Johnson and defending PGA champion Rory McIlroy are grouped together and were scheduled to tee off at 11:20 a.m. PDT.

Tiger Woods, who missed the cut at the British Open and U.S. Open, is two over through 12 holes.
