BRIEF: Duncan Keith ejected, facing suspension after committing penalty vs. Wild

March 30--The Blackhawks began Tuesday night against the Wild down one of their top three defenseman -- Brent Seabrook -- because of an illness.

Then just a few minutes into the game, they lost a second, Duncan Keith -- and they are could be without Keith for at least a few more games.

Keith received a match penalty for high sticking Wild center Charlie Coyle during the first period of the Hawks' game against the Wild.

Because Keith received a match penalty, he was ejected from Tuesday's game and is suspended indefinitely under NHL rules pending review of the penalty by the Department of Player Safety, in accordance with Rule 21 in the NHL rule book.

Keith received the penalty 9 minutes and 27 seconds into the game after he fell to the ice, swung his stick with his right hand and connected with the face of Coyle, who exited the game with a cut across his nose. Coyle would later return while the Hawks actually scored trying to kill off the five-minute penalty. It is 1-1 after the first period.

A source said, the league was already reviewing the penalty Tuesday night.
