Jan. 19--Anaheim Ducks defenseman Eric Brewer, acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning earlier this season, has put his home in Tampa, Fla., on the market at $2.375 million.
The two-story residence, built in 2003, backs up to a canal with a boat dock, a pool and spa and a putting green on about a quarter of an acre.
Entered through a foyer with 12-foot ceilings, the contemporary Mediterranean-inspired home features arched doorways, crown molding and travertine flooring. The 5,534 square feet of living space includes a chef's kitchen with a breakfast bar, a climate-controlled wine cellar and large common rooms.
The master suite, one of six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, has hardwood flooring and a large soaking tub. A second-floor bonus room opens to a balcony overlooking the water.
The Ducks, beset by injuries throughout the year, acquired Brewer, 35, from the Lightning in November after losing Francois Beauchemin to a broken finger and Clayton Stoner to the mumps. The 16-year veteran was an All-Star with the Edmonton Oilers in 2003.
Brewer paid $1.95 million for the home in 2011, records show. Allan Mezrah of Toni Everett Company is the listing agent.
