BRIEF: Dressmaker seeing green after online color debate

Feb. 27--Whether it's #blueandblack or #whiteandgold, one thing is clear: #thedress is making #themoney.

In case you missed it, things seemingly started innocently enough on Tumblr when a member of the band that performed at a wedding posted a photo of a dress worn by the mother of the bride, hoping for an answer on what colors the dress was. The debate quickly spread around the world on Facebook, Twitter and elsewhere.

Roman Originals the company behind the dress that went viral this week, said sales have gone up since the debate became all the rage. It took half an hour for the 300 dresses on the company's website to sell out on Friday morning, an executive from Roman Originals told NBC. The two smallest sizes of the dress were out of stock as of midday Friday in Chicago.
