Jan. 06--Doug McDermott practiced fully Tuesday for the first time since having a small tear in his right knee surgically repaired Dec. 13, but the Chicago Bulls already ruled the rookie out for Wednesday's home game against the Utah Jazz.
"He missed quite a bit of time so it's going to take some time for him to get up to speed again," coach Tom Thibodeau said.
McDermott was expected to miss six to eight weeks from the date of the surgery. The first-round acquisition has said he likely will return closer to the six-week mark.
Mike Dunleavy, Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah sat out practice, although Rose downplayed his sore hip and said he planned to play Wednesday and Noah didn't even land on the team's official injury report.
Dunleavy is listed as questionable and almost certain to miss his third straight game with his right ankle injury.
