Jan. 14--The Chicago Tribune Media Group's Lake County News-Sun reports: Prior to this week, the last time the double-jury system was used to hear a case in Lake County Circuit Court was 28 years ago.

William Fillyaw, 37, and Johnny Parker, 31, are being retried on first-degree murder and attempted murder charges in the slaying of 28-year-old Lasondra Shaw in her North Chicago apartment in June 2007. Their 2009 convictions were reversed at the state appellate court level for trial errors.
