BRIEF: Dolton man charged with punching girlfriend, pushing her out of moving vehicle

Dec. 01--A Dolton man was ordered held on $50,000 bail Sunday after prosecutors say he punched his girlfriend in the face and pushed her out of a moving vehicle in Markham on Thanksgiving.

Robert Barnes, 41, was driving in the 16600 block of Kedzie Avenue in Markham around 4:15 a.m. Thursday when he struck his girlfriend, according to court records.

He then opened the passenger door of the vehicle, according to court records, and "shoved her out of the moving vehicle while traveling at approximately 40 mph."

The extent of the woman's injuries was not made clear at Cook County bond court Sunday.

Barnes, of the 15000 of Dorchester Avenue , was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery, according to court records.

He also was charged with possession of less than 5 grams of cannabis and driving on a suspended or revoked license, according to court records.
