March 01--Adrian Gonzalez returned to the field Monday after sitting out a day because of complications from the bulging disc in his neck.
Roberts said he would trust Gonzalez to tell him when he requires time off.
"As he's accrued more service and really established himself as a star player in the major leagues, he's more comfortable saying when he can and can't go," Roberts said. "So we've talked about that. There will definitely be open communication, for sure."
