March 03--The Chicago Independents, a group of more than 20 independently owned Chicago restaurants and taverns, has a deal for you.
Starting Thursday, each restaurant is selling exactly 13 gift certificates, with a face value of $50, for $35. Each bar is offering 26 certificates (worth $25, price $17.50).
Among the particpants are Ampersand, Autre Monde, CH Distillery, Hopleaf, Jam, mk, Tete Charcuterie, Paramount Room, The Radler, Two, Vie and Volo.
The certificates are good for five years. The sole catch is that the certificates are invalid on certain "restaurant holidays" such as Mother's Day, Christmas, New Year's Eve, etc.
