April 03--Center fielder Dexter Fowler returned Sunday to the Chicago Cubs' lineup and assured reporters he could have played sooner after missing five games due to a sore left side.
But much off the attention was directed toward the Cubs' regular season opener Monday night against the Los Angeles Angels, and manager Joe Maddon won't finalize his lineup until Monday morning.
"I still got one more thing left," Maddon said.
It's possible his final decision could involve who is his designated hitter. That could narrow his options to right-handed hitter Jorge Soler or left-handed hitter Tommy La Stella.
