BRIEF: DePaul's Megan Rogowski out for the season

Jan. 06--DePaul has lost Megan Rogowski, one of the best three-point shooters in school history, to a season-ending injury.

Rogowski, a senior from Hersey, hurt her knee Jan. 2 at Villanova. It turned out to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), the injury that is the bane of women's basketball, lacrosse and soccer players.

A DePaul spokesperson did not know Tuesday if Rogowski, who is to undergo surgery Jan. 30, would apply for a waiver to get another season of eligibility.

Rogowski, a guard, set a DePaul season record for three-pointers (114) in 2013-14. Her 243 career triples are third most at DePaul.

This season, her .424 three-point shooting percentage ranks 41st in Division I while her 2.8 threes-per-game is 30th.

The Blue Demons (10-5), defending Big East champions, dropped out of the Top 25 after the overtime loss at Villanova. It was their third overtime loss of the season.
