BRIEF: DePaul's Doug Bruno gets another contract year

Oct. 23--DePaul has added a year to women's basketball coach Doug Bruno's contract, taking him through the 2020-21 season.

It is the second one-year extension to Bruno's contract this year. The other was announced in January.

Bruno is about to begin his 30th season as the Blue Demons head coach. His teams have made 13 straight NCAA tournaments, making DePaul one of seven schools with 13 or more consecutive appearances in the tourney.

Bruno, 64, has been an assistant under UConn's Geno Auriemma on the U.S. women's national teams that won the 2012 Olympic gold medal and the last two world championships. He will assist Auriemma again at the 2016 Olympics.
