BRIEF: Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning tops list for NFL merchandise sales

Jan. 17--Peyton Manning's future might be up in the air, but there is no question the Denver Broncos quarterback is still one of the most popular players in the league.

As a matter of fact, according to NFL Players Inc., No. 18 is the most popular player in the NFL as far as merchandise sales go.

In the quarterly ranking of the top 50 players for merchandise sales released Friday, Manning claimed the top spot over reigning Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson.

Wilson topped the list at the end of the second quarter, according to NFLPI.

The list is based on total sales of all officially licensed products from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30, which includes jerseys, wall decorations, McFarlane Toys and photos, according to NFLPI.

Joining Manning and Wilson in the top 10 are (in order) San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.
