BRIEF: Death of Northwest Side man, 71, ruled homicide

Jan. 29--Authorites are investigating the suspicous death of a 71-year-old Albany Park man who was assaulted Wednesday at his home.

An autopsy Thursday found that Allen R. Levin, of the 4800 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, died of multiple injuries from an assault which occurred at his home, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Police officers responded to a well being check at about 2 p.m. Wednesday and found him lying on the ground, with head, neck and body trauma, police said.

Levin, 71, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the medical examiner's office, which ruled his death a homicide.

No one has been arrested and Area North detectives investigating.
