May 03--A 30-year-old North Hollywood man whose body was wrapped in plastic and dumped near railroad tracks in Burbank last week died of multiple gunshot wounds, coroner's officials said Monday.
On Thursday, Burbank police received a call from a person who discovered the body in an open field behind the Stock Building Supply store, at 640 N. Victory Blvd., near two rusted train cars covered in graffiti.
Los Angeles County coroner's officials used fingerprints to identify the victim as Nshan Balyan.
As of Monday, Los Angeles police had taken over the investigation after Burbank detectives determined the crime was committed outside of the city, according to Burbank Police Sgt. Daniel Mayreis.
It's not clear when Balyan was killed. Investigators last week were reviewing surveillance footage collected in the area.
