BRIEF: David Posey names his new restaurant

Feb. 12--The Market District restaurant being opened in spring by David and Anna Posey now has a name.

The restaurant, at 1350 W. Randolph St., will be Elske, the Danish word for "love," which speaks to the husband-wife team and Posey's Danish heritage.

"I proposed to Anna in front of a Hans Christian Andersen statue in the heart of Copenhagen," Posey said. "I also have deep ties with Denmark with my mother being Danish; most school breaks and summer vacations were spent visiting family and exploring the country."

One final "love" connection: The Poseys were married just down the street from their new restaurant's location.

Don't expect a heavy Danish accent when Elske opens this spring, Posey said.

"There will be Scandinavian aspects to the cuisine, but it will not necessarily be 'New Nordic,'" he said. "We jut hope to create an experience that is simple, intriguing and delicious."
