Dec. 16--David Cromer will direct Lucy Prebble's "The Effect" at the Barrow Street Theatre in March, the National Theatre of Great Britain's North American wing announced Wednesday.
"The Effect," winner of the 2012 U.K. Critics' Circle Award for Best New Play, tracks the romance between a psychology student and a wanderer over the course of a clinical trial for a powerful anti-depressant drug.
Cromer last opened "Tribes" at the Barrow Street Theatre, along with his acclaimed production of "Our Town." Cromer's take on Thornton Wilder's play originated in a 2008 production with the Chicago-based company The Hypocrites.
Barrow Street is at 27 Barrow St. in New York.
