April 30--Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman have sold their Beverly Hills home, for which they were asking $32 million, in an off-market deal.
The two-acre estate centers on an elegant main house designed in a French country style by architect Wallace Neff, whose homes have gained a following among the Hollywood elite. The brick-clad two-story has a basement.
Within the 14,579 square feet of living space are a projection room, living, family and dining rooms, an office, an art studio, a bar, a den, a gym, a wine cellar, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Fireplaces grace the living and family rooms, the library and the master bedroom.
There are two swimming pools and a guesthouse on the parklike grounds.
DeVito, 70, is on the series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and starred on "Taxi" (1978-83) as dispatcher Louie De Palma. Among his films are "L.A. Confidential" (1997), "Twins" (1988) and "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975).
Perlman, 67, is on "The Mindy Project." She was on "Kirstie" (2013-14), "Pearl" (1996-97) and "Cheers" (1982-93).
They bought the property in 1994, according to public records.
Rochelle Altas Maize of Nourmand Associates represented the buyers.
