BRIEF: D'Angelo, Chemical Brothers to headline North Coast Music Festival

April 28--D'Angelo will be among the headliners for the North Coast Music Festival, which will return to Union Park on Sept. 4-6.

The lineup announced Tuesday also includes the Chemical Brothers, the Roots, Atmosphere, the Glitch Mob and Galactic, joined by Macy Gray. An additional headliner is to be announced May 12.

D'Angelo has yet to play a Chicago show since releasing his first album since 2000 in December, the acclaimed "Black Messiah." In the last decade, he has rarely toured. He was last seen in the area opening for Mary J. Blige in 2012. A 2013 appearance at House of Blues was canceled due to illness.

Tickets ($159) are on sale for the 6th annual festival. The complete lineup is available at northcoastfestival.com.
