BRIEF: Cupich to celebrate Christmas midnight Mass

Dec. 24--Archbishop Blase Cupich, marking his first Christmas since taking the helm of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will celebrate midnight Mass at Holy Name Cathedral.

The Mass, starting at 12 a.m. Thursday, will be televised on WGN. The Rev. Greg Sakowicz will offer commentary throughout the broadcast, officials said. Viewers can tune in to Channel 9 or view online at http://www.wgntv.com/livestream.

Cupich took the helm of the nation's third-largest archdiocese in November upon the retirement of Cardinal Francis George.
