April 25--Ian Happ, the Chicago Cubs' first pick in the 2015 draft, Monday was named the Carolina League's player of the week for the week ending Sunday.
Happ, 22, batted .429 with three home runs, eight RBIs, seven runs and nine walks in seven games for Class-A Myrtle Beach.
Happ, an infielder, went 4-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs on April 18 at Winston-Salem.
Happ, the Cubs' third top prospect by Baseball America, his batting .357 with 15 RBIs after starting 0-for-8 with four strikeouts and three errors.
