Nov. 12--A Cubs source refuted a published report that they were in talks with the Nationals to acquire All-Star starter Jordan Zimmermann, and had even discussed names.
"We've had no discussions, and he's not available," the source told the Tribune.
The report quoted an unnamed source saying he expected the Cubs to "complete the deal."
Zimmermann, 28, is in the final year of his contract and figures to get a nine-figure deal if enters the free agent market next year.
