Jan. 16--Only reliever Pedro Strop remains as the Chicago Cubs' lone unsigned arbitration eligible player after the team agreed to terms with left-hander Travis Wood and infielder Luis Valbuena.
Wood receieved a raise from $3.9 million to $5.685 million. Valbuena will earn $4.2 million after receiving $1.171 million in 2014.
Strop and the Cubs won't settle by Friday night and will exchange salary figures. Arbitration hearings are scheduled for next month, but both sides can continue to negotiate.
With the signings, the Cubs have committed about $95.895 million in base salaries to 19 players for 2015.
