April 06--Chicago Cubs top pitching prospect Duane Underwood Jr. wasn't assigned to a minor league affiliate, but that should change in the future.
Underwood currently is building up arm strength in Arizona after not throwing an inning in spring training because of right elbow tenderness and allergies.
Underwood, 21, is the Cubs' fourth best prospect according to Baseball America. Underwood, a second round pick in the 2012 draft, was 6-3 with a 2.58 ERA in 14 starts for Class-A Myrtle Beach despite misisng two months because of a right elbow strain.
