Nov. 25--The Commissioner's Office announced Wednesday that Chicago Cubs minor league pitcher Tanner Griggs will be suspended for 50 games without pay after testing positive for Amphetamine, a stimulant in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
The suspension of Griggs, 21, will start at the beginning of the 2016 season. Griggs currently is on the rookie-level Arizona League roster.
Griggs, a 12th round pick out in the 2014 draft out of Angelina College in Texas, was 1-1 with a 5.50 ERA in 14 games in the Arizona League and with Class-A short-season Eugene in 2015.
