BRIEF: Cubs lose lefty pitcher in Rule 5 draft

Dec. 11--SAN DIEGO -- The Chicago Cubs lost Double-A left-hander Andrew McKirahan to the Miami Marlins on Thursday in the Rule 5 draft.

The Marlins must keep McKirahan on the major-league roster for 2015 or offer him back to the Cubs for half of the $50,000 selection price.

The Cubs selected infielder Taylor Featherston from the Colorado Rockies, and then traded him to the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations.
