BRIEF: Cubs' Kris Bryant starts in 2nd spot for 6th straight game

May 12--Kris Bryant thought that his first major league home run after a 73 at-bat drought might serve as a springboard for a power surge.

And after hitting his second home run in three games Monday night, Bryant will bat in the second spot for the sixth consecutive time Tuesday night when the Chicago Cubs face the New York Mets at cold and windy Wrigley Field.

The Cubs believe they'll hit for more power, and Bryant will bat ahead of No. 3 hitter Anthony Rizzo, who has hit six home runs in his past 20 games.

Here's the Cubs' lineup against the Mets and top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard, who is making his major league debut:

Fowler cf

Bryant 3b

Rizzo 1b

Montero c

Soler rf

Castro ss

Coghlan lf

Arrieta p

Russell 2b
