May 19--SAN DIEGO -- Kris Bryant remains a Las Vegas resident in the off-season, but the Chicago Cubs' rookie standout is expected to receive a warm reception Tuesday night against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.
Bryant, who starred at the University of San Diego from 2011 to 2013, will bat second when the Cubs face the Padres.
Bryant is batting .291 with four home runs and 24 RBIs in 29 games since being promoted from Triple-A Iowa on April 17.
Jorge Soler, who has struck out at least once in 10 consecutive games and has 54 strikeouts, will bat sixth.
