May 09--MILWAUKEE -- The Chicago Cubs hope familiarity brings a better result for them Friday night.
They will face Jimmy Nelson of the Milwaukee Brewers for the second time in six days. Nelson held the Cubs to three runs in 6 2/3 innings as the Brewers rallied late for a 5-3 win Sunday at Wrigley Field.
Many of the young Cubs' players were facing Nelson for the first time.
"The first time you see somebody new, the pitcher should have the advantage," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. "I do think so, especially if they're game ready, in-season and that kind of stuff.
"I'm not saying the advantage jumps back to us, but I think our guys have some working knowledge now, and hopefully that will benefit us somewhat.''
Jason Hammel will try to reverse a trend in which the Cubs have lost five of their past six games.
