May 31--The Cubs and Royals were hoping to play the second game of their weekend series Saturday night at Wrigley Field as howling wind, rain and chilly temperatures threatened during the afternoon.
The contest has been postponed until Monday, Sept. 28.
The game was planned to honor their 1915 Federal League counterparts. The Chicago Whales and the Kansas City Packers played 100 years ago when Chicago's home games were at Weeghman Park, Wrigley Field's original name. The Cubs and Royals are planning to wear 1915 throwback uniforms.
The wintry weather Saturday afternoon was more conducive to watching the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers play.
Tsuyoshi Wada (0.00, 2.70) now is scheduled to face the Royals' Yordano Ventura (3-4, 4.64) on Sunday.
The Cubs dropped the first game of the series, 8-4, Friday afternoon as they committed two errors.
