April 15--Jake Arrieta will try to give the bullpen a rest Tuesday night as well as sustain the momentum the Chicago Cubs have built with two comeback wins in the past two days.
Arrieta carries a streak of 23 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run when he faces the Cincinnati Reds.
The Cubs have won their past three games with a short-handed bench and a taxed bullpen that promoted them to promote left-handed reliever Zac Rosscup from Triple-A Iowa while putting infielder Tommy La Stella on the 15-day disabled llist, retroactive to April 9, because of a sore right rib cage.
"When everybody believes they got a little piece of ownership within the group, it makes a big difference," manager Joe Maddon said. "And that's why I like everyone playing right now. Everyone is getting in at different times. Even the three-headed catcher seems to be working out OK."
