BRIEF: Sunday's recap: Brewers 3, Cubs 2 (11 innings)

May 11--The summary

The Brewers pulled out a 3-2 win Sunday in 11 innings when Ryan Braun hit a double off Jason Motte and scored on a single by Martin Maldonado with the bases loaded and one out.

At the plate

The Cubs mustered only three hits in seven innings against Matt Garza but rallied for a tie in the eighth when Anthony Rizzo hit a double, and Dexter Fowler scored when Maldonado couldn't hold the relay throw to home plate.

On the mound

Kyle Hendricks was pulled after 5 1/3 innings and 85 pitches despite allowing only five hits. His effort was wiped out when Zac Rosscup allowed consecutive homers to Maldonado and Elian Herrera in the seventh.

In the field

Third baseman Kris Bryant charged and fired a throw to first to barely nail Braun for the first out of the eighth.
