The Brewers pulled out a 3-2 win Sunday in 11 innings when Ryan Braun hit a double off Jason Motte and scored on a single by Martin Maldonado with the bases loaded and one out.
At the plate
The Cubs mustered only three hits in seven innings against Matt Garza but rallied for a tie in the eighth when Anthony Rizzo hit a double, and Dexter Fowler scored when Maldonado couldn't hold the relay throw to home plate.
On the mound
Kyle Hendricks was pulled after 5 1/3 innings and 85 pitches despite allowing only five hits. His effort was wiped out when Zac Rosscup allowed consecutive homers to Maldonado and Elian Herrera in the seventh.
