BRIEF: Cubs Game Day: 4 HRs power Cubs to 10-7 win

March 21--Cubs 10, White Sox 7

Spring record: 8-10-1

The summary: Before a sellout crowd at Camelback Ranch, left-hander Travis Wood allowed five consecutive hits during a three-run first inning. The Cubs, however, rallied behind home runs by David Ross and Arismendy Alcantara.

At the plate: Left fielder Junior Lake, who appears destined for Triple-A Iowa unless he's traded, hit a two-run, tie-breaking double in the sixth. Albert Almora had two hits, including a single that preceded Ross' homer.

On the mound: Reliever Brian Schlitter, battling for one of the final spots in the bullpen, induced Avisail Garcia to ground into an inning-ending double play to end the fifth.

In the field: Lake caught a sinking line drive by Adam Eaton near the top of his shoelaces in left in the second. Almora made a running catch in left center to rob Eaton of extra bases in the fourth.

Key number: 24 -- Home runs hit by the Cubs this spring.

The quote: Wood: "If Jeff (Samardzija) pitches against us, there definitely will be something. But I guess we'll tackle that when we get there."

vs: Seattle, 3:05 p.m., Saturday at Sloan Park: LH Eric Jokisch vs. RH Felix Hernandez.
