Jan. 15--The Chicago Cubs trimmed their list of unsigned arbitration eligible players to six Thursday by agreeing to terms on a one-year, $1.925 million contract with left-hander Felix Doubront.
Doubront, 27, was 2-1 with a 3.98 ERA in four starts with the Cubs after being traded from the Boston Red Sox.
Doubront's signing leaves pitchers Travis Wood, Jake Arrieta and Pedro Strop, catcher Welington Castillo, infielder Luis Valbuena and outfielder Chris Coghlan as the Cubs' remaining unsigned arbitration eligible players.
Arbitration figures will be released Friday evening if both sides having agreed to terms, with arbitration hearings set for next month.
