BRIEF: Cubs' Dexter Fowler sinks to 7th in lineup

July 06--Dexter Fowler headed to the batting cages Monday under the left field bleachers in hopes of snapping out of his 12-for-76 slump in his past 21 games.

But there's plenty of work ahead for Fowler, who was dropped from the leadoff spot to seventh Monday night when the Chicago Cubs face the Cardinals at humid and damp Wrigley Field.

Chris Coghlan, who has drawn 13 walks in his past 11 games, will bat leadoff.
