BRIEF: CTA trains stopped briefly in Loop after person falls onto tracks

March 27--"L" trains on the Loop elevated structure were stopped briefly this afternoon when a person fell onto the tracks, according to the CTA.

Green, Pink, Orange and Brown Line trains were stopped while crews worked to save the person at the Randolph Street Station. Service was restored a little before 1 p.m., according to the CTA.

Someone at the Randolph station fell onto the tracks a little before 12:45 p.m., but it was not believed the person made contact with the third rail or was hit by a train, said CTA spokesoman Catherine Hosinski. Power was shut off in both directions on the Loop "L" about 12:45 p.m.

A female patient was taken to an area hospital in fair-to-serious condition, said Chief Jeff Lyle, a fire department spokesman.
