BRIEF: CTA trains resume normal Loop service

Dec. 24--Chicago Transit Authority "L" trains resumed normal service on the Loop Wednesday afternoon after a day of delays because of switching problems downtown.

Brown and Green lines were delayed because of switching problems at Wells and Lake streets, and resumed normal operations about 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Brown Line trains were running on the Orange Line side of the tracks, according to the agency. The first stop the trains will make in the Loop after the Merchandise Mart will be Clark and Lake, according to the agency.

Harlem-bound Green Line trains were running on the outer tracks. Orange and Purple line trains were also delayed due to the switching problems, according to the agency.

The CTA first reported the problem about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday.
