Feb. 02--Classes will resume at Chicago public schools on Tuesday, officials announced Monday afternoon.
The district canceled classes Monday as the worst winter storm of the year hit the Chicago area, dumping more than 19 inches. It was the fifth largest snowstorm in the city's history.
It was the district's third weather-related closing this year.
The district with nearly 400,000 students closed two days last month due to cold weather. Also closing Monday were several suburban school districts.
