BRIEF: Coyote survives jump from 4th floor of Gary garage

Dec. 03--The Chicago Tribune Media Group's Post-Tribune reports: A young coyote cornered on the top floor of a former bank's four-story parking garage in Gary leapt to the sidewalk to try to evade capture early Tuesday, fracturing its right front leg.

A worker at a company renovating the former Gary State Bank, 504 Broadway, ran into the coyote as she got out of her car on the fourth floor of the garage.

The coyote, later identified as a young female, "was standing on the ledge, walking back and forth," said Yolanda Thigpen.
